Have you see the NAR commercial that has been running on TV lately? Prime time commercial at that - right at the smack in the middle of 24 (series on Fox).
What did you think? I thought I was stuck in the 90's. This is part of what our dues cover right? Advertising, creating awareness.
The first two thoughts that came to mind when I saw the commercial were
1. I need to run to the fridge (something better must be in there)
2. Boring = tuning out immediately (not appealing to my emotions, will not make me pick up the phone and call a local Realtor®)
I went to look if I could find the piece somewhere and I did - on the NAR site, where it also talks about how important advertising on TV is. More expensive, but valuable. Sigh.
I can not open the link to view the commercial from the site - need a plugin that apparently I am not able to install???
Here is a you tube link to one of the ads.
Do you like it?
What would you do differently?
In your opinion is this type of "awareness" advertising even necessary? This advertising campaign costs a lot of money. Could that money (or some of it) be used elsewhere or differently for better results. What is the actual desired result here - I know awareness... but really?
